I am a citizen of the world with Swiss, Portuguese and South African nationalities and have studied and worked in several countries across 4 continents. An English, Portuguese and French trilingual, I also fluently speak Italian and Spanish. As much as I love to travel, living with my husband and daughter in the beautiful city of Neuchâtel close to Geneva and Zurich in Switzerland provides the ideal work-life balance which enables me to thrive.
My passion for watchmaking initiated during an Erasmus exchange from the University of Bath in the UK to the University of Neuchâtel in Switzerland. Little did I know then that Switzerland would become such an important country in my life.
At the London School of Economics, I chose Swiss watchmaking as the central theme for my Master’s degree thesis. My dream to work in the industry came true when I joined Girard-Perregaux as responsible for Public Relations. I then became an area sales manager for Parmigiani Fleurier in charge of Asian and European markets. Later, a one-of-a kind opportunity arose to launch Greubel Forsey and manage their sales and communication. After six formidable years I moved to Australia to set up a distribution company for Greubel Forsey, Hublot and Corum and finally managed the latter in Singapore.
All these experiences, enabled me to share my passion for watchmaking artisanship with discerning collectors, jewellers and boutiques. I realised upon my return to Switzerland from Asia Pacific that I wanted to help talented artisans active in watchmaking, jewellery or craftsmanship to grow their business. This is how FirstSecond became my new reality.
